Girl Power!
"Homepage for Girl Power!, a national public education campaign sponsored by the Department of the Health and Human Services to help encourage and motivate 9- to 14- year-old girls to make the most of their lives." Information is provided on healthy eating habits and good nutrition; diaries excerpts of young, contemporary female role models (e.g. Tara Lipinsky, ice skater) and tips for maintaining one's one diary; interviews with famous adult women; and general information on sports and fitness. The site is also interactive in that it presents activities, games and puzzles; a forum for girls to submit their opinions on guided topics; and links to other sites.

Girl Scouts--Just for Girls
"Just 4 girls," this site includes information on fitness for girls; ideas for crafts and activities including how to create a web page; leadership, science and technology. A forum is provided for girls to communicate with each other and creative writing and artistic submissions are accepted. Information on how to join the Girl Scout organization is also provided.

Girls Inc.
Provides a forum for girls to rate movies and read movie reviews by other girls; addresses the portrayal of women on television and offers a thought-provoking "toolkit" for girls to think about television vs. reality; provides information on Girls Inc.'s nationwide archaeology program for girls ages 12-14; and supports a "stamp out smoking" campaign. Also promotes A "Girls' Bill of Rights."

The Girlsite Network
"A community of girls on the Net who speak their minds, share their ideas and make lasting friendships." Promotes the powers of self, voice, technology, opportunity, and community by providing technological access and training; opportunities for creative expression, and a forum for sharing.

Girls' Place, Inc.
Covers important current events, health issues, and cultural differences that impact teens. Also offers biographies of noteworthy teens. Founded by the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the American Bar Association Juvenile Justice Center among others.

A Girls' World
Provides weekly surveys on friendships, boys, family, "tough issues;" arts and crafts ideas; facts on animals and pets, sports, recipes, money matters, entertainment, and daily life; features submissions of diaries, journals, poetry and fiction of girls; advice columns; and lots of links.
